Sue StittCWMS Director – Sue Stitt

Sue grew up in the UK and studied violin with Brigid Kirkland-Wilson as part of a music education degree. She emigrated to Australia in 1985 and has been the strings specialist at Trinity Anglican School since 1993 where she is now the Director of Music. Sue plays the violin and viola in the Orchid Ensembles and is director and one of the Concert Masters of both the North Queensland Chamber Orchestra and the NQ Chamber Players. She has also led the 2nd violins in previous CWMS courses.
Since working in education Sue has discovered an increasing interest in music administration. The Cairns Winter Music School was developed as part of her passion to provide opportunities for skilled players to take part in challenging professional development. She sees the CWMS as an annual opportunity to re-inspire musicians with an intensive course that demands commitment and excellence from all participants. It is especially helpful to the many teachers and community musicians in regional Australia who have the responsibility of training the musicians of the future.
